Portrait of Mike MacDonagh

About Me

I am Mike MacDonagh, a designer and developer with a background in Creative Digital Media, focused on building clear, maintainable digital systems.

What I Do

I design and build small to medium digital systems, from static websites to internal tools and automation workflows. My work spans front-end development, UI design, and content systems.

I have delivered WordPress sites, internal tools, and enterprise applications using the Microsoft Power Platform, and I am now focused on open, inspectable web technologies.

How I Work

I work iteratively and ship often. Systems are built small, tested under real constraints, and refined around what proves useful.

  • Clarity over cleverness
  • Low-dependency by default
  • Document as I build
  • Maintainability first

Full-Stack Transition

Since August, I have been working daily toward becoming a full-stack developer, focusing on open-source tools and modern web development through the freeCodeCamp curriculum and continuous project work.

Working with AI

I have been using AI tools in my workflow since 2023, encouraged early by my former manager. I use AI as a support layer for research, automation, and problem analysis.
